They're not reef safe, or small fish safe either.

I know they are not Reef Safe and I know I can get them from LFS. I was wondering if anyone on here was looking to get rid of one or had them for sale.

The reason being is I have a Harlequin shrimp that needs starfish to survive and I hate paying $30 or $40 dollars for a starfish to feed a shrimp I got for $20. I am going to put it/them in a separate tank and place pieces in Reef tank as needed. Poor starfish...but they do regenerate their arms...right!

Just a thought here is there any other way to feed the shrimp? Blas

Pesky astrerina stars. I probably have 100 of them between my sump and tank as probably most of us do. Get a collection up.

Ya at first I liked the astrerina stars until I found a few out the bunch who like zoos. now I am always watching them not for fun but to make sure they dont eat my zoos

I originally got the harlequin shrimp to get rid of the asterina stars because I had an outbreak of about 50 and they were also destroying my zoos. Now I like the looks of the shrimp and want to keep him around.

I'll trade you you my Chocolate chip star (mine is reef safe, yes I'm sure) for your harlequin shrimp, I have lot's of astrerina stars! Can't imagine parting out my Chocolate star! : ) ( humor intended)
