I am curious about the use of Co2 in the aquarium. I know it helps fight algee problems but does it benefit anything else?

It is primarily used to supplement calcium in most peoples systems

CO2 is used in calcium reactors to lower the pH to dissolve the calcium media. It is also used in freshwater planted tanks but I am not aware of using it for other purposes in saltwater.

I used co2 in my 30 gal plant tank.
Mixing sugar, yeast and water to create
Photosynthesis. I used to be really into
plant tanks until I bought a
clown fish and an anenome!
Now a reefer for life.
