I met the guy who runs the reef tanks at The Gulfarium. We talked and he is interested in giving us a behind the scenes tour and he is interested in our reef club. Sounds like a cool deal if you ask me!!

ya know thats one downside to this hobbby. you find your self critiqueing reef setups at public aqariums mire than to do enjoy them. I find myself saying things like thats it or they should do this or they should have done that haha.

Like anybody's tank set up, I accept it for what it is as they have a plan and it may not necessarily be mine.

yea i was afraid i would come across as arrogant. I did not indend to insult their tanks i just ment to comment on we as hobbiest ,well me atleast i can not speak for us all , sometimes have a hard time enjoting the displays as displays without bogging our brain down with the technical aspect of it all. heh i may be digging myself a deeper hole and it may be best for me to cut my losses here i do apologize i never ment to offend anyone heck i have never even been to the gularium altough i have driven by it many times.

I'm down for it! It'd be neat to see how they're running things compared to the estuarium in D.I.

No offense taken. I always try to enjoy it for what it is. Heck, there are some 55g systems out there way more advanced than mine.

And, across the street and down a little bit is a huge indoor aquarium we could visit afterwards and talk about it all. Okay, so it's not an aquarium, it's a mirco brewery (McGuires?!?).

Suzi, where is D.I.??

I still have it, although I may be installing it on my 180g for sctinics. I have 2 x 96w PC's with actinic bulbs if interested. And a 90g tank that Tony forgot to take home with him.

I don't think it's considered an aquarium if the only animal swimming in it is a mammal. Which would be me, of course.

I'd definitely be up for a tour of their setup. The follow-on tour of the McGuire's reef sounds like a pretty good idea as well. We can sit around and talk about what we'd do better. Truthfully, I always love to see different setups. I really love that there's no one right way to do things in this hobby, and innovation is still such a big part of it.
