Hi all,i am hoping to set up a 50g[uk] seahorse tank, iwas going to use live rock and hopefully some live sand.I was going to try areas of macro algae in the tank also to try and give them a more natural habitat. But the only macro algae we seem to get in the UK are Caulerpa, which seems to get a bad press, because of them going asexual and crashing. Is there a way of stopping this or could i use an alternative. Also are pipefish harder to keep than the seahorse ? any help would be great. all the best alsbeth

go to seahorse.org

also a good way to keep caulerpa from going asexual is just prune it often....

I have several species of caulerpa and I never have had it go sexual in my main tank. I did have it go in a smaller tank, but I was able to pull it out easy enough. Just keep it pruned as stated above and it will be fine. Besides if it does start to go sexual you will be able to pull it out in time. You will start to see some cloudiness, looks a bit smoky when it does happen.
