Macro Photography

I've been working on my macro photograghy techniques and thought I would share a little. As well as being into tanks, fishing, snorkeling, kayaking, I also enjoy photography, but haven't ever gotten into macro until now.

If anybody else enjoys this kind of photography, I've been reading a lot and I've gotten a lot of great tips.

Well you'll get there but you better control the noise volume if you really wish to practice macro photography. Also go deeper with an ambitious shots. Avoid using too much editing softwares such as photoshop, photoeditors..etc. Let your camera blend with the subject.

Macro photography is all about photos speaking for itself. :)

I've done a little macro. I take it you are using digital. What type of camera? What length lens? I really like the fourth shot. A little busy around the edges, but the subject has a trippy color/pattern effect that is very pleasing to the eye.

hey, are those my Zoo's. lol.

on the subject of macros....search for "K9" and his 20g long tank. his pics are amazing, he uses the same exact camera I have (canon powershot G5) yet I still havent been able to take a macro shot, even with the tripod. not of my tank, cars, other images around town...nothing.

I'm actually more into the zoos than the art at this point in time. I'm still a little zoo crazy!

Are they super light hungry?

I think the more light you have the better they grow and maintain bright colors. In the past I had zoos under plain florescent lighting. They survived and even grew a little, but there's no comparison to the color and growth I have now under T5s.

The problem I have with my macro shots is my Ikelite housing has a long nose on it and its really hard to position the strobe so I get light without burning the shot or getting a shadow.
