Could someone please let me know how to rid my tank of colonial hydroids, besides the following methods:

Kalk paste, physical removal of rock or using tweezers.

Iv'e tried the paste and the tweezers and removing the rock is not plausible.

Please help before they over-run my tank.

Links would also be great.

In the seahorse forum, you'll find mention of the dog/horse dewormer called Panacur. It will kill hydroids in a heartbeat... unfortunately, it's not very friendly to most inverts.

There are tales on www.seahorse.org that tell of some people using it without any harm, but that usually requires quarantining your corals, snails and other inverts away from the treated tank for a few weeks to give the Panacur time to settle out (WCs, carbon, skimming, etc.).

Sorry I don't have anything more useful. :(
