I added a blue sponge to my tank yesterday under MH and in a good flow area. It wasn't exposed to air at any stage.
This morning it was white or very light blue/grey.
Is it dead? If not, it's obviously a sign it's not healthy, so what can I do to save it?

Part of my red tree sponge is turning white also, that means part of it is dying. I know they've low lighting needs and high flow. I'd keep it away from MH. Someone suggested that using a turkey baster to blow sediment off the sponge. I feed mine phytoplankton daily. Part of it is dying, like mine but rest is doing ok. I've had it for couple of weeks.

Blue sponges (Halichondria) are different from tree sponges. They rely heavily on photosynthesis and nice strong light, like an sps.
Starvation is a common cause of sponge death. However, I just added it yesterday, so it wouldn't have starved that quickly.
Also, they are not white spots really. It's like the whole sponge lost it's pigmentation. If this is a sign of death, there's no cutting of bad parts that would save it now I'd imagine.
