Hello,
I found this snail/slug kind of thing today. It is between the size of a dime and a quarter. Weird thing is it has a hard hump like "shell" and long soft body. It's mainly speckled and has long antennae. This thing moves really fast too!
Well, I took it the fish store after getting it out and he was completely puzzled at what it was. For a better look, he picked it up and turned it over. The thing split into TWO! The second piece also moves and has antennae, but less coloration.
WAY CREEPY! He also noted that his fingers felt quite irritated after handling it.
Here it is out of water....

And here it is running away in the container (sorry it was a white background with high flash) with the second part of his body still moving around.

Thanks!

That's probably a stomatella snail. They're good. I have stomatella varia in my tankl, and they're great.

Thanks!
Another question, what are they good for? Do they eat algae, etc? Stir sand?
I would just like to know what is in my tank......
Thanks again.

They eat algae, here's (http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-05/rs/index.php) an article to read.

Yeah they drop their rear end as an escape ploy, it'll grow back.
