we have books that list both but dont list the differences. any thoughts?

Paracanthus hepatus is called Blue, Regal or Hippo tang
Acanthurus coeruleus is the Atlantic Blue tang(which has a yellow phase) http://www.ffexpress.com/setfish.htm has pics of both species and the juvenile phase of the Atlntiv blue. HTH enjoy

Tim, What's the fish behind the Powder Blue Tang? Are these photos from your own tank? Didn't we tell you on a previous post only two tangs in a 180? I suppose you still have the Naso in there too?

thanks all...our confusion started with the book showing on one page a blue tang (paracanthrus hepatus) next page /same fish called it regal??? not a great book

I'm not sure what the fish in the back is. These are not from my tank. I just found some pictures on the web and wanted to play with posting pictures.

Looks like a purple tang, Zebrasoma xanthurum
