I have had them in the early days and never had one last over 9 months, so I don't have any secrets..................

I may be able to help but it depends on the problem. Could you give more info on exactly what the problem is?

Sorry, forgot to ask as well....which "flower pot" is it? Gonipora sp. or Alveopora sp.? Both are sold under the "flower pot" name, although Gonipora is the most common in the trade. If your not sure, count the tentacles on an individual "flower"....Gonipora has 24 tentacles and Alveopora has 12 tentacles.

I have a real nice flowerpot skeleton in my fuge. I'm sure it provides great filtration with all those cavities.

Don't feel bad about losing, but feel good if you can make em live.

Check out these sites for some good info. They need good flow to keep junk from settling on them. They're prone to infection which is probably what usually kills them.

Glad I stumbled across this thread... I picked up Goniopora Stutchburyi last month and it has done fine... The rock it was on was covered in hair algae... I got most of the algae cleaned off and it has flourished since... But after having read more, I'll be sure to pay more attention to it at feeding time...
