Snail ID

First sorry for the rather vague desciption and lack of picture.

I have 100s of small snails. They are nocturnal and don't appear to be harming anything that I can see. I have lost some snails but I think that is more to poor balance on their part. The snails in question are around a quarter of an inch long. The shells taper to a point much like the small cerith shells. They appear to be right hand shells. They are white/gray with no visible markings on the shell itself. Due to the size and activity time it is difficult to get any sort of picture that would help. I am mainly looking for ideas on what to look up to see if it matches. As I said I have 100s that come out at night. The sheer volume of them gets me nervous.

Hmm nocturnal snails? Any idea what they are eating, and where they hide during the day? Also are they reproducing in your tank?

Yeah I only see them out at night. I have seen some in the cracks in the rocks during the day. But I at night the are all over.

I an not sure what they are eating. I can tell you they do not eat my hair algae :) or this stuff I have called Wire Algae. They do appear to be grazing though and usually they show up in the same general area. I never see them on the glass or sand. Only on the rocks. I can only assume they are reproducing but I have not seen any eggs.

I know it is a bit vague but it is very hard to get a picture. I may try to snag one and get some macro shots. I have a magnifying glass that I have used to help boost my digital camera.

It's possible they're strombus grazers, their literal name. They spin threads like spiders to let themselves down from rockwork. They're related to the conchs, never get very big, but are particularly good at getting into tiny places on rockwork. I was very glad to see mine reproduce.

I thought strombus grazers were the low rider snails that had a shell that looked like a fingernail. I will tyr to get a good pic when I get home. They are jsut so small I don't think my camera will do the trick but I will try. I really want to know lol.
