I have been reading on zoanthids, star polyps, and xenias mainly. But from what I've read these corals are completely photosynthetic. I thought that they mainly used light for their food, but also required, and would collect from the water, small food particles... If they do require additional feeding what is recommended?

Was just wanting some more input on this.

I occasionally feed some excess rotifers (I breed clownfish), and also phytoplankton. I've heard of people using some oyster eggs with success, but really, most leather corals are VERY photosynthetic, and with the proper lighting will grow and thrive for you.

Before I started breeding clowns I didn't feed much for the corals, and they have done rather well despite no deliberate feeding (I've always had 175 or 250w MH's plus VHO actinics)
