new halides

i switched from 175s to 400s and cut back the hours from 8 to 4 hours a day and the corals are still getting stressed. is there anything i can do to prevent this...cut back the hours more, etc.? thanks

Maybe cut back a bit more. When I switched from pc to halides i started with 2 hours a day. Also are they the same kelvin rating?

That's quite a bit more light, did you use any acclimation technique such as window screen method, etc...?
