Hello all, sorry this is my first post. I've been checking ya'll out for a while. I wanted to let anyone who wants to know (now don't shoot the messenger!!) Wade, at L&L, is revamping the saltwater room so it will be closed for approx. 2 weeks. He asked if I'd pass along to anyone and everyone that he is giving away all of the sand & gravel (free) from the saltwater tanks. If anyone is interested to come by after 1:00pm tomorrow, April 11 and ask for him. He's pulling out all of the tanks....FYI, I understand that they will be selling the 75's for $75 but I don't know when. He's keeping the sand live, nice and wet but it's got to be out by tomorrow night.

I'll be posting more often from now on, I'd like to join the Reef Club eventually. Now, to find time......

Welcome Rx , Thanks for the heads up.
I talked to Wade last week and He mentioned there were changes to come in the saltwater room.
As for the free sand and gravel, I would consider using it for a fish only tank, but not sure I would try it in a reef tank. Reason ? I would think that at some point medication may have been used to treat incomming fish, IE copper. But for a fish only tank, on a tight budget there you go...........

I went by L & L at lunch time today, the transformation has begun.
The progress appears to be slow, but there were a lot of tanks broke down, and a small amount of wall construction. There going to clean and paint. Once that is done I think things will start coming together.
I'm optimistic that its going to be good place to buy healthier fish and corals. The Equipment will keep the live stock at proper temps., and they will have better lights to show their corals.
I think the L & L employees will enjoy setting up the new systems , and will be proud of their results.
I'll go back in next week and take a look, wondering what paint scheme they will choose.

It sounds like Kathy is trying to improve things there. I truly hope so. They do get some nice stuff in, would like to see it live longer than in the past. Hope it all comes together for them.

Did anyone get any sand from L&L? I was going to but after reading the life cycle of "ICH", deciding not to. Just wondering if anyone got any and all is OK with it?

May 5 is going to be the grand opening, they have got the tanks from the downtown store. If they do it right will look real nice

May 5th is going to come and go, from what i'm seeing. The Salt Room still has a way to go.
But the dry goods shelves and the newly painted wall above the shelves are looking really GOOD!

We need to get everyone together and make a road trip to the Nashville stores and go shopping. Emerald Bay and Aquatic Critter are nice stores.

How does Emerald bay compare to Aquatic Critter?

They are both nice stores. AC being alot bigger than Ebay. Ebay has some better prices and a real friendly staff. I like both stores myself.
