With the recent storms, I was wondering. If I was to loose power for any lenght of time, is there some kind of genereator that is ideal for someone that lives in an apartment. I see most use fuel, that proply would not be a good ideal to use indoors. Is there maybe a rechargeable battery type. Plus I live on the second floor. So I don't think that I could use that car thing. Don't think they make those cords 200 feet long. Just wondering if anyone else has had to deal with a prolonged outage under simular circamstances, and what they did.

You might be able to use an uninterrupted power supply, depending on how big it is and how much juice whatever it is you want to use takes.

That is what I want to do, but also add 3-4 more batteries in series so they last longer. Just need to find out how many watts I want to run, and how long.

You would like to run the batteries in parallel. if not you could really damage some stuff silly butt. It takes some one with electrical knowledge to build an automatic transfer switch. Please be careful.
