Long story.....
I was at a LFS today and i saw what I thought was a large Candy cane or Trumpet coral and inquired about it. The employee told me it was a brain. I have never seen a brain that looks like a trumpet or candy cane. Only difference i can see is the the heads or cirlcular sections are all close and touching one another almost as to actually be one. BUT if you look at the calcified skeleton of it you can tell that they were all seperate heads. Is it possible that this is a brain as i have never seen one like this. At any rate i liked the looks of it and did the big NO NO and bought it without researching first. It has what seems to be 7 heads or mouths and i gave 35 for it. Can anyone think of a brain that looks like this one. Im lookin for my camera now to post a pick but it is still alittle closed up. Gimme a minute and i will get a pic up.

Some sort of Blastomussa ?
Wellsi or Merletti ?

I understand the individual heads part, but were they branching skeletons or a balled mass of skeleton ?

They are massed together at the bottom of the skeleton then branch out. I have been trying to search for pics and descriptions and im think im leaning towards a LOBO brain..... sound like a possibility?

Usually it is one skeleton.

I will look up Blasto Merletti for you.

What color is it ?

These are some pics, they can come in variations of growth patterns tho, but this is the rough Idea.
