Well, after much thought, I've decided to downgrade from my 400 Watters to 250's. I'm moving back down tho San Diego in a couple months, and I'm thinking ahead about the electric bill. I have two 400's and would like to switch to three 250's. I put the Seattle/ San Diego in the title because I'd perfer it to be a local thing. I don't want my critters to be without light during the shipping process. Please let me know if any of you 250 users out there want to upgrade to 400's. Thanks!!! Matt

I have a Hamilton Technology 3 foot enclosed system w 2 250w watt and 2 55w PC actinic. I paid almost 900 for the system. Let me know if you are interested. thanks THEPHISHGUY

Sounds like I'd have to break it up to cover the surface of my 180. A 3 foot enclosure would only light about half the tank. Very generous to offer, though. Thanks. Matt.

Sounds tempting Jason, but I'd rather not go below 250's because of the sps I have. Orange County, huh? I was born and raised in Huntington Beach. Can't wait to get out of the rain and back to sunny SoCal. Thanks anyway Jason. Have a great day!! Matt.

Brown, where are you getting 150 dollars a month from?

2 X 400 watt bulbs that run 8 hours a day should be NO MORE than 25 dollars MAX.

Hey, on a side note, there are a lot of cool reefers down here. You'll love it bro.

Brown Trout,

Hello fellow Navy! When you moving back down here? When you do, we have a local club SDMAS I can set you up with thier info. We also have about 3 VERY good LFS's to get stuff.

As far as power, I run my below setup and it runs $40-$50 a month just for the tank for electricity so you can use it as a guideline. The baseline usage figure here right now is .13 cents a KW..but your baseline is only 325 kw a month. Its when you jump over that you will pay .18 cents more in addition per kw. So yes, if you get way over your baseline your power bills will add up quick.

Drop me a PM sometime about where your headed etc down here and if ya need info on housing etc....We just finally purchased a condo and can give you some area info if your looking to buy as well. LMK
