It seems that something is eating my Sand sifting stars. They apear to be eroading from the tips of the legs in. Seems to be happing to them one at a time. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

They are most likely starving to death.

Sand sifting stars eat the infauna that lives in the sand. When the food supply runs out, they slowly use up internal reserves. You could say that they are more or less eating themselves alive.

Maybe they are starving, but if you have any large hermit crabs that is more likely the issue.

So after they eat the algae all up, what is the next thing to feed them so this doesn't happen? Just curious b/c I have 3 in a 55 gal
