Tonight I went to Charlotte Beach to take pics of the Stephen B. Roman a freighter that I hope someday sinks but sinks with no lives lost. Its a nice Ship but would look better under water. While I was there I figured I would take some pics of the surrounding areas. These pics were the reason why I named this Post,
Something Beautiful Could Be Ugly (http://www.fortunecity.com/greenfield/healing/57/id45.htm)!!

Hmmm...

Me thinks you have the start of a photographic essay....

But I'm not sure I want to see how it would end. :(

Maybe you should contact the D&C and see if they want to run it as a photo essay....

Cool pics/statement. Just wondering if it was cold after you took that sock off?

Thanks for finding my long lost sock! :D

Nice pics man, and yes, that ship would look [i]much[i/] better underwater... Hmmm, how long is it in port for?

I apreciate the point you are trying to make, but that ship is a concrete carrying vessle, hardly an environmental problem (an oil or gas tanker might be a better target). I wouldn't normally know that, but i used to work at the port authority of its home port.

. My comments were made towards the beach pictures of the dead fish and forks and socks that were all over the beach. Have a great day aaaaaa!

not of the top of my head.. If you want I can find out with a simple e-mail to a guy i know who still works there. I know that loaded it draws 7.8 meters.. had to do a bottom survey for its slip.. it was draging coming in.

Yeah if you could that would be great. Not knowing metric that well I dont know if 7.8 meters is what it was drawing last night but it was sitting at the 16 mark. Not even thinking last night thought it was 16 feet but being the boat is from Toronto now I'm not sure.

Actually you can see it in one of the pics.

no problem.. might take a few days to get a response.. but i'll get one.. I'll check on the draw too..
the conversion is 3.048 muliply meters by the conversion to get feet.. divide feet by the conversion to get meters.

In surveying at the port we tried to keep everything metric, but as you can see by the pic alot of things are still in feet.

BTW the 23 mark is approx 7.8 meters
