anyone have any succes with a clown tang? this one at discount pets is eating, so I guess that a good sign?

Even if they eat, it's not a sure sign of survival. Their organs could be shutting down and could take up to a couple of months for that to happen. As long as the tank is large enough, might as well take the chance. It might have been caught where they don't use cyanide....who knows?

Both of those fish need a long tank, 6 feet or more, to have enough swimming room, they are both VERY aggressive, and the first one is known to be difficult to keep even under good conditions. I don't know about cyanide caught tangs, I have heard it is uncommon due to poor survivability (i.e. they don't make it to market alive), but I think on the other points alone it's safe to say there are other fish in the sea :)
