This aquarium started to show some sign of growth and things are growing fast. For those who are not femiliar to this aquarium that the left side of the aquarium has MOROCKS (Rocks made by mo using cement) and is covered with corals and caroline algae now. I'm working on building another pieces for the right side of the tank so eventually this aquarium will have MOROCKS. Now it has 50/50 and goal is to make this aquarium 95% MOROCKS :D and get all live rock out of it. We have gone so far that we can build better rocks now. Enjoy the pictures and please post your comments. If you have problem loading pictures please let us know too and I can resize them. I did resize them and I don't have problem loading them (cable connections ) :D .

I will post each picture seprately to help devide the page...

Zo's and acro fight, Will see which one will win and it looks like acro is growing faster and trying to shade.

Note that one of the acros part sticking out of the water and as soon as it got there it started to branch to the side.

real pink zo's that few polyps of it got stock there few months ago and it started to double every month now. It is really pink and came from Solomon Island. We lost most of the zo's a month after setup due to heat and AC is taking care of that now.

There is alot more life in this system than what pictures show. Pipe fish are not easy to take pictures of and there are tons of other corals all over the system and in the back too.

These are in the tank next to the main tank and I was going to put seahorses in there this week instead and move these to one of the aquariums in the back. Seahorses did not arrive and will do that next week and maybe Monday.

There are many reefers from other clubs who helped us with this project and I made sure I share the link to these with them. They have the right to see it too. There are alot more corals that did not fit this aquariu, some in the back and some spread to other systems to help fill the 240 gallon at Loyalsock in a week. Loyalsock will be needing alot more corals and frags.

You just had tons of these corals from schools to help you out. :D It must be a kind school to help you like that :D :D
It looks like a mini Sanjay back up tank there. All the soft corals coming out of that tank and going to Loyalsock and they will be replaced with SPS that I will be getting in a week or two. That leather in the left hand helped cover that MOROCK very good and is time for it to go to another new tank and fill that area with SPS.

Very impressive aquarium, Mo. It must be even more impressive seeing it in person. I think these school kids are spoiled.... all we had was a baby turtle in our classroom!

Thank you guys and it would've not been done without help from reefers like you guys. This school is able to help with filling the new project that needs to be filled in a week. Thank you guys for your help and support.

Yes it is and is the best looking fish in there next to the black clarkii and pipe fish. Most of the fish are hiding and they tend to do that when I pull the camera out of the bag.
Today that system has few extra stuff added to it and will update everybody. Good stuff and few changes.

nice tank mo, 120? what's your lighting scheme?

zooqi
02/10/2006, 06:08 PM
Thanks and thanks for the goodies today. The light on that tank is 1000 W 20K and I have it about 2'-3' off the water and corals that are even in the shaded areas open well :) . I love that light .

02/11/2006, 09:30 AM
I'd be willing to bet you have no need to place the acros so high with that kind of light, try one on the bottom of the tank, i bet you'll be surprised.

I can have an acro in the shade under the rocks and still opens but depends which acro. I have dropped frags and still see them open and growing. As a matter of fact everytime I put my head under that light looking at a pretty reef, my head seem to be growing too :)

That light makes everything grow to the point I think if there is enough room that tank will grow to 240 gallon too :)
My head is big that they will add me to the list of (The Big Heads ) in Presidents Park, Williamsburg, Virginia
--Have you been there before ?
Type (The Big Heads Williamsburg ) in yahoo or google search.

wow hardly looks like theirs any room for anything to grow packed out that tank is

of all the corals in their my wife says that thoses bright green zoas are beautiful at least i think their zoas correct me if i am wrong how long has the tank been up and running also if you have any more pick of the clarki postem he looks like mine but mines not rare lol

zooqi
02/18/2006, 10:31 PM
If you are talking about thos zo's between staghorns. She is right and they are zo's and there is another one that should be as green or more too.
This tank was filled with saltwater last June and it was a long summer of running with no light (for long time) and then not fish for long time, and then corals (most of them came in there in June. We lost lots of corals and fish due to summer heat and fixed that problem with AC in the room and since the AC has digital control it did not come back one when they lost power at the school and we lost some more corals and fish again. I'm replacing this AC with another one before we hit the summer heat again.
Those clrakii's are not common in the stores because two of them are black clarkii and one of the is blue eye clarkii.

Tell your wife if i ever frag those zo's she will be the first to get a frag.
