Here it is when first bought 10/15/05:

Here it is in late November 2005, a couple of weeks after we cleared out a "bad" hitchiker crab that had been eating the coral down to the "bone" (you can already see growth in teh cut sections). We have to amputate several heavily damaged branches. Amazing what one little crab can do in such a short span of time :

I have about half a dozen frags ranging from 3/4" to 2" (give or take). There are already a couple spoken for, but I should have some left for the swap, if anyone is interested in a little trading/buying :)

If my current stock of frags runs out I can easily frag a couple more, but I feel more comfortable with the frags we have now, as they are already well encrusted on their plugs, and doing well. Bear in mind also that I have noticed better color and growth with it being lower in the tank than when it was higher up. Shoot me a PM if you are interested :)

I am curious if this basically the same as the Steve Elias stag that is supposedly so popular?

I honestly don't know. If memory serves we acquired the mother colony from Atlantis. I have seen several other losettis for sale but none with the color that ours exhibits, but we all know how lighting and flow in the different tanks can cause such differemces, I only hope that our "change" is permanent :)

I'll take one frag too if still available. I can pick it up on feb 11 frag swap. Nice growth on that coral.

can u raise it higher than the sandbed? blast it with more light and the whole colony will go go a nice teal color instead of green w/ blue tips.

mine really colored up amazingly when i raised it off the bottom.

I had mentioned in another thread that it does turn an all over dark teal color the closer it is to the light. But I also noted that the growth rate dimished the closer it got to the light.

:)

Between the frags in the prop tank that are all teal and the colony in the main tank, we definitely prefer the coloration in the main tank, it stands out alot more than the all over teal coloration IMO.

Thanks for the info though :) Post some pictures of your colony, I would like to see it :D. Just tack them onto this thread. Thanks :)

Hmm.. maybe I should move the frag I got from you down a bit to get better growth. The color is really great a few inches under 250w DE, but growth is slow.

yea, I did notice that with the ones in the prop tank (that were alot closer to the lights). I guess you could move it down for a couple of months to get some good size out of it then slowly move it back up :)
