Hey Everyone,

Anyone have any great spots for live rock that is attainable by snorkeling. I'm not looking to damage the reefs either so if it is just laying there or you know a place that might be up my alley I would appreciate any help.

Take it easy,

Josh

I recommend buyin it in naha. cant beat the prices, and its quality rock. You could probably fill your tank with rock for about ~1800y.

Just my $.02

I second Naha, Vest says it awesome. but if u dive you could get it also. 1 or 2 rocks will not destroy the ocean. I was soo scared thats what iwas doin lol.

I didn't know that they sold rock in Naha. Does it have some pretty good stuff on it?

If you can wait, I got a lot of my nicest live rock after a big storm. There was so much LR on the beach; I was throwing nice pieces back into the ocean, just in case I wanted it in the near future. I figure if it's on the beach, it's just going to die and dry up anyway.

You mean wait for typhoon season to roll around? I don't think I can wait that long.

Ive got lots of stuff slowly growing from my rock. If I had a better light, no doubt it would be popping up like crazy!

I wouldn't wait that long either! I found a lot of mine after a good wind and some big swells came through. I was amazed at what was on the beach after some big waves!

Where in naha can I get the rock? I'd like to see what they have. By the way, are there sprecific coraline algae? The rocks i get have everything from red to light pink, to white and even some orange. The pinks and purples are deffinitly the dominant colors.

Thanks,

Jason

I went to that store in Naha last night. That place was in bad shape when I was there. I thought the fish lady was bad. It did have some cool freshwater fish though. And HUGE carpet anemones but everything was in a bad state.
