Just wanted to show you a pic of my $10 chiller. Now the tank runs about 79 degrees as compared to 82-84 degrees. Its a fan that i bought at Target that hangs on the wall.

How about some details on that chiller.

Corrie, good idea on the fan. You will probaly see alittle more evaporation with the fan blowing on the tank. The evaporation is what causes the cooling. Nice photos of your corals as well. In my years of reefing I have never been able to sustain Zoas. Those ones fro Agu look nice. Glad to see everything going good for you.

I got the idea from Eric. I did notice that about the evaporation. Anyone have any experience with auto top off units??

Corrie, there are alot of different methods for auto top off. Mine is run from a dosing pump and kalk reactor and continually tops off one drop at a time thru out the day. Without having a supply above the tank to syphon drip from, you will probally need some kind of pump and switch...Again it is better to top off smaller amounts to keep your salinity swing in check...Not sure but AGU posted a small dosing system that he uses. Maybe he can find the link to show you...

I actually seen his tanks in person and loved them. His goby/shrimp pair was great! I seen the top off until, but i dont think this could work for me as the fan might blow it off the the tank..

How does it work? Just sit it above the tank level and it will drip into it?

pretty much. you can regulate how fast it drips. I had it set up on my 39gal for top off.
