Starting Tank number three... well not starting but saving them from the hands of a moron... It is a 20 Gallon High Salt Setup (A Via Aqua AR-680 that came with no heater so... when my friend went on vacation the tank almost froze and everything died... which he gave up on the setup and salt...

So when I saved the tank it was empty except for water and a couple of pieces of not so live live rock. It was running two flor. 15 W bulbs and I believe he had no idea where the filter was or the fact that the filter was filthy!

I replaced the lights with Corallife 15W ( 1 actnic 10k , 1 "natural reef" 50-50 bulb. I also added a custom made reflector to the built in hood to get the most out of the 30 watts. As seen below:

Secondly I painted the back of the tank Berumuba Blue/Green, when hand painting I found it hard to make the paint constant so I used a large Sharpie to color the entire back black... giving me the really dark color I want in the background.

Lastly I added a much needed heater to the tank... as seen in the picture below... I would like to find a way of placing the heater in the top... possibly a customer job done to the overflow... any advice to that would be nice.

So then I had an empty tank... however the 75Gallon Reef Tank in my Porsche showroom sprung a leak and we decided that will go until we get a new one. So I took some live rock, 10 Turbo snails, two hermet craps, a toadstool leather coral, some green polyps, and there fish, Clown, Flame Hawkfish, and a Scott's Fiary Wrasse... who we thought was dead... he manged to swim through the whole sump system and we found him in the sump tank when we broke that down... The following are pictures of the tank and inhabitants...

Louis the Hawkfish... I think he is hoping the leather might get big enough for it to be a couch for him

Looking good. Glad to see your taking care of it. I would think that 30watts isn't really enough to keep any corals though, you are going to need to get some more lighting for them to do good. I have 40watts over my 10 gal and i'm hesatant to put any corals in it and my tank is really shallow. Also when you take pics try taking them at night with the lights in the room off it will really make the take stand out in the pics.

Cutie... I will try that out as soon as I can... the tank is in my Porsche showroom next to my desk, so the lights dont go off here often.

As far as the lighting goes, I would like to think about doing a DIY kit, I am waiting for someone to post there own ideas for the lighting. The only reason why there is coral in there now is A. It was free from the larger thank. B. Those are frags from other corals. But you are completely right more lighting will be benficial.
