Is GE silicone II 100% silicone sealant ok to use?

No, you want to look for GE I which is for windows and doors. GE II has some stuff you don't want in the aquarium. The cilicone I GE is what most of the aquariums built with. Some also states not to use with aquarium on them too.
Part II has Fungicides that is used for bathrooms and kitchen and we don't use that on aquariums. So read and see if it says that or no.

you will smell silicon but it should go away as it dries. Thinner layer dries faster and in the future if you are doing big aquarium it will be good to put a small layer, let it dry and put another one or you have to let it dry for a long time. If is thick it will dry from the outside and inside will take either longer time or it won't dry before you add water.

yeah, it has to make sense because I said it :d kidding.. I just learned from experts in this hobby and listened to them well. Some might say it is ok but with me I don't take chances.
