I was wondering what some of the great lfs in Chicago were? I would like to know from the cheapest prices to the best setups.

Shia - I've been to several in the Chicago area. Two that stick out in my mind are Reefdweller (www.reefdweller.com) and Beyond the Reef (www.beyondthereef.org). Both are a touch pricey, but their quality is second to none. Maps, phone numbers and hours of operation are on their websites.

Cheers!

Ya I have been there. There name is Aquatics Unlimitied, and I like there prices but don't like the fact that they buy there fish from Indonesia. Also I have bought fish from there that get sick very easily if they weren't already sick.

Aquatics unlimited is on Hwy 100. i hate that store. i think they are over priced for what they ask for. the store i was originally talking about is by the bradly center and stuff. is that the one u are talking about?

Im sorry my mistake, 3rd and martin luther king drive is Aquatics exhibit. The one off Hwy 100 is Aquatics Unlimitied. Needless to say both of those stores have problems.

Shia - the best place I've found is Living Sea in Park Ridge, IL or Old Town Aquarium in Chicago on North and Wells. Old Town has the cleanest tanks but a little on the pricey side. Nice selection though.

Honestly? Not really. There's only one place. Called Reef Dweller on about 6000 N Lincoln or so (don't quote me on the address) that has an amazing amount of SPS. And a few clams. Great prices though. But his live rock is poor and his tanks are old and dingy. You can get Reef Dwellers address from the Chicagoland Marine Aquarium Society Newsletter on their site.

Shia - You should, however, make a trip to Old Town Aquarium. They have the best looking livestock in the city and they look healthy and well fed. I think it might be worth the extra 10 bucks to get a piece you know is going to live.
