Hi I just read your lionfish article...very good. I read that you know where to find the solid black volitans. Could you give me some sources? Thanks
i had ordered one from exticfish but it is mostly dark brown

there are many places online that can get you a black lion, problem is your at the whim of a collectorand the system. So the collector will catch whatever he can- be it dark black or dark brown. Therefore at any given point there maybe black lionfish in the hobby, but ensuring you find one- can be-as you can imagine-difficult.
If your willing to pay big dollars, places like www.themarinecenter.com has cherry pickers in most wholesaler and can usually get the fish your intrested...Thats the key-BTW- the wholesalers get all types of fish, the exotics go to the customers w/ the deepest pockets. The only way around this, is to cherry pick. My personal opinion is to find an LFS and actually see the lion. Your black maybe someone elses brown
