Today I noticed three clumps of 'something'(real scientific) on my carpet anemone. I thought it might be getting sick, but then later two of the clumps were gone.

These clumps are white-ish in color and look like a cluster of very small bubbles or possibly egg sacs. They were located between the mouth and the first row of tentacles. Maybe 1/4" across and same in height.

Anybody have any idea what this might be?

Thanks

Dwayne

Hmm, I'd say you have two possibilities.
1 feces
2 eggs

For eggs I would expect the round "bubbles" to be very uniform in size.
I'm not sure if Dr. Ron has returned yet from his post MACNA wanderings , but it would be a good idea to email him as he is trying to do work on breeding carpets.

Thanks for the reply.

I don't think it is feces, I beleive this would come from the mouth.

Eggs - Due to the uniformity of the 'sacs', this is what I was thinking, until...

After posting my question, I continued to watch the 'clumps' and noticed they seemed to dislove back into the skin. They almost looked like a disease my clown fish had, but of a different color.

Hopefully, Dr. Ron will see this post a reply as well and once again show me the wrong of my ways :D
