I have a 75 gallon tank with a 2"clarkii clown, a 4" tang and 80lbs of live rock. My live rock was florida agricultured and is full of crabs and mantis shrimp (Maybe have just heard popping, and seen dead crabs) I also lost my other clown and it had marks on it like it had been killed. If I add a snowflake will it help with the crabs and mantis? Is it likely to kill my clown? What about hermits and snails? I've been catching one or two crabs a day and it seems like there's more now than ever.
Thanks Joe

Joe:
Depends on how big the eel is. If you get a snowflake thats a baby i suspect the crab/mantis might have a chance. If you get a larger snowflake then crabs are toast, I'm not sure about the mantis. If he can catch it, sure he'll eat it. My only beef w/ snowflakes (okay 2 beefs) 1)-they are fantastic escape artists, 2)-when they get larger they might potshot fish.

Any other suggestions? I think they've figured out the traps.
Thanks
