Here's some pics of the sump I made for the 220.

The right side has an 18x12 refugium with black acrylic that will have a lid and light of some type. The water will enter the sump behind the refugium and flow under a baffle to the main sump chamber. The left side is 18x20 and will house heaters, pumps, probes, etc...

Where did you get the acrylic and what did you use to bond it?

Nice job BTW.

I bought the acrylic at Regal Plastics on Reno Avenue. I used weld-on #4 to bond it. I had Regal build the 36x20x16 outside box and I cut and assembled all the inside pieces. I just don't trust myself with outside seams.:D Total cost was around $250. I used 3/8" acrylic which almost doubled the cost, but it won't bow out and I won't need a top brace. Acrylic is easy and fun to work with, but it does take some practice.

Looks great Don! Please post some pics when ya get the ref water flow setup. I was thinking of making a small spraybar for mine. What pump you think 200gph? Needs to take a 1/2 since that's prob the pvc size I'll use.

Nice work Don. I like how u did the drip tray. How did u get the holes so straight? Looks like bioballs go there...hehehehh. I like the simplistic look. Wonder how you trap microbubbles without any baffles...cuz I dont' see any. Also, do u not need probe holders or float switch holder?

Tom, Thanks for the kind words. For the driptray I clamped a straight edge down and used a Dremel with an engraving bit to make the channels that run between the holes. Then I just used a drill and drilled a hole where all the channels meet. My arm was pretty sore the next day and I would recommend a drill press for anyone drilling that many holes. :D The eggcrate is removable and will only be used when I want to run the water trough carbon or mechanical filtration. I just wanted the option there if I ever needed it. There aren't any baffles, but there is a lip that the water will have to travel under in order to get to the main sump area. The refugium will overflow into the main sump through a 1/4"slit that runs about 9" along the top of the refugium. As for probes and switches, I've never used any so I didn't know how I wanted to do that part. I have some extra acrylic and will figure that out when I get there. The sump still isn't complete and I can always tweak it here and there as things come up.

Thanks Chris Robin. Practice with some scrap acrylic first and take your time with the cuts and it should turn out just as nice. Acrylic is easy to work with but it does take practice.
