I saw a small one in my Dad's tank the other day and I believe its responsible for taking down his dragon goby last month... Anyone have any experience successfully removing these guys?

Anyone have a mantis shrimp trap?

Anyone interested in a mantis shrimp provided he can be caught alive?

I can show you how to make a mantis trap. Depending on how big it is.

you will need a small water bottle and super glue.

Or try baiting him out in the middle of the night...then give it the skewer or net him.

Poke hole in the bottom of a dixie cup and load it with some stinky scallops. Set it top sown in the sand so the stench permeates...he will come out after it when the lights are out, then net him!

This is what I used to get the mantis out of my tank.

It might take a few days, but it sure works.

After you catch him, post on the Mantis forum and some one will take him, they are cool animals.

If I can catch him, what do they typical go for? I've still got lots of crap to buy... :)

Most people would suggest a spiral burial (i.e., flush)

Not true!!!! Only the ignorant would do that, they are cool animals. Post on the mantis forum someone will pay for shipping and maybe $10.00 or so.

Thanks, but I'm not ignorant. Most people would rather flush a tank predator after losing valuable tank inhabitants. I know I would.
