Free chaetomorpha

Like the title says.

Put a light over the tiny refugium and forgot to check it. Pulled out a brick of chaeto.

What exactly is chaetmorpha? Does it go well with salad?:)

It's an algae that doesn't attach to rock or substrate and grows quickly while removing organics from your water. Because it doesn't attach it doesn't become a nuisance that other algae can become. It also doesn't "crash" as other macros are known to do.

Haven't tried it in salads. I'll send you some and you can tell me how it tasts ;) .

Is that something you put in there intentionally to remove nutrients or just hijacked its way into your refugium? Pretty wild looking.

Got the original piece from Scott. Once it gets thick it's a haven for pods, works, and mini stars.
