I love that people are offering frags from thier tanks to the group, I look sites from the big three C towns and see very few of the many in those groups doing that. Sure a couple guys do on a regular basis and they do have their swaps but the rest of the year is some what desert like
I think if our club is going to grow and get stronger; the group buys and offers are the way to make that happen
I just wish I didn't tied all my high school club's money up in candy bars other wise I would be first in line.
The high school club strongly believes that swaping and buying frags from captive corals is the way to go. It keeps pressure off the wild ones.
way to go guys!!!!

Briney!
Thanks for the PM's about your class. I think what you are doing is great. Let me know in any way that I can help.
Do you happen to have a pink b-nest? I'll frag it for you and 'gift' it to your class.

thanks for thinking of us Jen, if you need, I can give you a receipt for your tax records as a donation. We have had a few people over the years donate unwanted tanks etc. for the tax credit, not a bad deal.
we want a few different acro species for the hex and maybe a couple of bigger pieces to anchor the look and serve as frag donators.

any use for a 10 gallon and a metal stand? The molding is coming off a bit (a little glue would work to fix it) and the stand is a little rusted. The tank holds water no problem. Oh, yes there is a cheap flouresent light / hood too. I was gonna garage sale it and trash it if it did not sell.
It will be a couple of weeks before I part with it as I am QT'ing my 6 line in it right now.

bring it to the meeting or later if you need and if you don't sell it I will give it a good home. If you give me an approximate value I will turn it in and give you a credit if you so desire
Oceanography uses small tanks for projects every fall and run close or out of them most years
once in a while I can offer elementary teachers an in-service on how to keep freshwater fish in their classroom. (lesson plans and all that jazz) it is nice to be able to give them a tank and equipent to get them started so its not all out of pocket since they don't have school funds for one

I'll let you know when I am done with it. I'll hopefully be moving the 6-line to the 20 gallon soon. I need a light for it first.
