Can I get some recs on low to mid $ range editing software?
Easy to use - I'm mainly looking to crop, resize, rotate - nothing too dramatic.

Hi Cone9,

I use Macromedia Fireworks or Adobe Photoship so I can't really comment on other packages but here is a url for Cnet.com that might be helpful:

if your looking for low cost or free do a search for the program called Gimp. or you could purchase Jasc Paint shop pro for roughly $100.00 bucks. Or if you have $600.00+ laying around you could spend it on Adobe photo shop :eek2: :eek1:

you know, as illegal as it most definitely is, a guy at work told me about a site called www.musiccity.com, where you can supposedly use their "Morpheus" search engine (like Napster) and find software, like Adobe Photoshop etc. (or anything for that matter) and just download it for free because someone is sharing the files... Makes you feel bad for the people who spent so much money on it and then other people just pass it around... :(

I second z28cam's suggestion of GIMP or JASC Paint Shop Pro. I have used both and they meet your requirements and more.

I highly recommend GIMP. I have been using it for years with great success. It won't replace Photoshop for a real power user, but it is a great program for the casual user. Plus it is free! http://www.gimp.org.

Oh, it runs on windows, but works best in Unix (Linux, etc.).
