Hey all,

Came in today and found my male had spit out all his eggs :mad:
He ate at feeding time as well which sucks...ANyone know how long it usually takes before they will try again?

Sean: Very common for the male to abort the first brood he carries...it was his first right? Mine did that also, and 14 days later he was holding and carried to term. Held them for 28 days...5 days later he was carrying again..held them for 28 days and 5 days later he was carrying again ...held them for 28 days and I removed him from the tank......The last 3 broods were all carried to term but the first was not...Hang in there..they will breed again.

Sally's right on the money.
I think i also mentioned this when you posted the male was carrying. Pretty common for first timers. These fish once established will bred like rabbits. Give him some time and they go at it again.

That sucks. But don't loose hope. Just try again! And remember to feed them both a lot of food!
