for power heads. I decided to make a power head hanger, and they turned out pretty good so far...not I just need to drill and tap a hole on the outside part to put a nylon screw in to adjust for tank thickness. Here is what they look like though.

Nice. Why don't you just use the tank mounts that come with the MaxiJet?

My tank is too thick and they wont fit over the rim.

Well, Willem...if you want something like that made, let me know and I can make a few for you. I have been thinking of a way to make them adjustable for length also. Maybe a sliding vertical part that can be moved up and down.

If you use a suction cup mount just put a little aquarium silicone in the middle of the suction cup and press it to a clean surface. It'll stay till you remove it.

When you remove it does the silicone come off the suction cups too?

That only works if the tank is dry when you do it. Once water is in the tank, I have never had it stick. Plus with this, it is easy to move around if you want to redirect current in a different pattern.

silicone produces ammonia when it cures and some types produce acetic acid "vinegar"

It works under water as long as the suction cups are in good shape. If you have any Tunze equipment they show doing that very thing.

silicone produces ammonia when it cures ....

So do your fish.

......and some types produce acetic acid "vinegar"

Will not hurt a thing. Think of the people dosing kalkwasser and vinegar.

Just make sure it's aquarium safe silicone.

When you remove it does the silicone come off the suction cups too?

If not you can peel it off.

I've used it many a time.

Try it or not, makes no difference to me.

Richard...That design is cool...and it is just what I need (actually two of them) I have a constant battle with my powerheads getting pushed off the glass by my massive SWARZINAEGER turbo snails...Can you make me two of them??? Please let me know.

I haven't tried the silicone yet. How do you cleaned the PH's.
Any way, back to the bracket. I cant hang any thing over the sides of my tank, i can in the back. Also, the lip would allow some thing to span the whole top front to back... Would something like the following be possible?

I don't see why we couldn't make something like that. I like the design in the second diagram. The first one looks good too, but not sure if it would be troublesome to make. The second one looks like an easy build and easy to remove for cleaning, etc.

I need measurements, and preference of acrylic color. I prefer black, but could be made of clear...or any other color you might want.

I may also try something out of acrylic rod. Not sure if it would work well or not, but I may try one to see.
