I'm no expert!!! but thanx for the comp. I just search these boards alot and most will tell you to use IO. Keep searching:D

I'll back that up. I've tried a few different brands, and have always ended up coming back to IO. Do a quick search and you'll find a lot of threads about why people prefer whichever they use.

I am currently using Kent. Works great. Use to use IO. Works great too. I usually get whatever I can get my hands on, which is either IO ir Kent. I have heard quite a few things about Coralife and will always shun it.

I have to agree. I have always had good results with Instant Ocean.

Tinlegnick,
I also use IO, but only because I can't get many other brands.

TropicMarin is an excellent salt. Kent's pretty good.

I've only had problems once with IO, so I called the company and gave them a lot number for review.
Didn't ask for any freebies, just an explanation of why a 50gal bag couldn't raise salinity in 30 gallons of water.

They were very rude and not helpful at all. So if you use IO, mix overnight, and ensure the salinity is at the level you want before adding to your tank. Actually you should check every time, but once you've been doing this awhile you start to get a groove and that usually means cutting a corner or two.

Good Luck

I have used reef crystals for about 1 year now and I am very satisified. My lfs sells rc for only $5 more than IO. Also re contains more calcium than IO

Do a quick search and you'll find that RC doesn't really have all that much more Ca than IO; like 2 or 3 ppm more. Some studies even showed that it had lower Ca.

We used IO, then we switched to RC for almost a year, and then we switched back because we didn't see any difference in the inhabitants of the tank or the numbers.
