The rock-work looks great. You might want to do something about all the algae, though.

Love The Aquascaping! BTW how do you plan to contain he gsp?

I have come to the conclusion that hair algae is most prominent in 29 gallon fish tanks.

^LOL, yeah, I think your right. As far as the algea I just plan on pruning and keeping up water changes. If absolutely necessary I will get a lmb. Ive only fed the echinata once, and it shows no growth but Ive only gotten it recently. I just plan of fragging the gsp and hope I can start making some trades or getting some credit at my lfs. same with the xenia, which is incredibly hardy. so far 3 heads have just falled off, then started new colonies on the rock work.

When you did feed the echinata did you see any feeding tentacles? There was a time when my 12g was competing with your guys' 29s for the hair algae title...:p

^^yes, that was the reason I fed him. But, I've got some bad news. Overnight, he became covered in brown jelly so I had to toss him. And yes, that is a clarkii clown. I have 2 of them and love em. They like to play hide and seek.

crummy! Did you know of any physical damage that occurred? Any ideas what lead to the brown jelly infection?

I've got to dissagree.. I really don't have much of a problem with hair algae. My biggest problems are scroll algee and some bubble algee. But I've also got a HOB 5 gal fuge with lots of maco growing. I think I'm probably going to finally break down and buy a Romora skimmer to put in the the fuge.

The skimmer couldn't hurt. I think noname's tank is about the right age for the algae, & after it's matured (as long as there's good husbandry) it should naturally cycle out.

I don't know of any damage to the skeleton but I had just moved him down next to the sand and I believe that somehow caused the jelly. ^I have 195 watts of pc lighting, and thank you.

Is it possible that prior to the move something may have stung it? I'm so curious b/c I lost my 1st & only echinata to brown jelly. It came in 58 degree water b/c the shipper forgot the heat pack I requested, & he sent me 5 random chips (most half polyps, some less than even that) epoxied to a flat pc of rock. When it arrived, most chips had come unattached & were smashed in the bag. I'm still waiting for the replacement...It's been about a month now w/only promises! I'm always trying to learn from a failure, & from other hobbyist's experiences.

No, the only other lps was an open brain about 12" away from it. That would be the only other coral you would worry about in the tank. It sounds like your shipper just does things half *** and you get stuck dealing with it.

To be fair to the seller, he said he had his girlfriend send out his packages that day b/c he was busy at a day job. When I asked him why I was sent that piece, he immediately took responsibility for the mixup (said she must have gotten the 2 pcs confused - I think some other hobbyist was pleasantly surprised when they got the frag meant for me =(). Anyway, I've been very clear to him that I would rather wait for the mother colony to fully rebound from the fragging, & for my new frag to have enough time to heal, before he shipped it again. I'm just getting impatient :) . I really don't know if this is going to be made right for me; hopefully it will & I'll have a better time w/ the replacement.
