wow, dude, I wouldn't want to tangle with those crabs! I guess that's how they get one of their common names, boxer. How long have those guys been together, & do you see that aggression often? Also, does your sally lightfoot ever interact with them? Very nice pics, by the way. What type of camera/lens did you use?

Thanks for all the questions! :D I had my Pom Pom boxing crabs for about three weeks now... I used my Canon A520 Powershot with the macro function. And lastly my boxing crabs tend to shy away from the sally lightfoot, the sally lightfoot as most are is frantic and moves around very quickly... the boxing crabs hang out where they can't really be seen and wait for some food to pass by as they "wax on, wax off" with their anemones... It's great to watch. As i've noticed so far they have been reef safe as I have plenty of zoa's and have no issues as of yet... I recommend these little guys, there a bunch of fun to watch!

I had one of those guys in my ol' 55, I saw him about 3x in 2 yrs, then when I broke it down I couldn't find him, so I think I gave him to my LFS in a hole in my excess liverock. I read they make much better displays in nanos, & I was planning on getting one someday, but last week one of my fem emerald mythrax crabs ripped open an acanthanstrea lord polyp right in front of me! :mad2: I got her out immediately. I know crabs are opportunistic, but I was handfeeding my emeralds daily, & they were very actively eating the macro algae that threatened to take over after my re-aquascaping. Now I'm scared of anything w/claws! Do you have any LPS?
