Hello all,

I have a prism skimmer on my 10g nano, and it's not skimming anything any more. Something broke when I was cleaning and it's never really done the trick. I have been looking at a new skimmer and I was wondering which ones you would recommend. I have been looking at either an Aqua-C remora or a Tunze Comline. I want to know which one will skim the most and is the quietest. Durability is a bonus aswell.

Thanx for any help:)

Id go Coralife Super Skimmer, the 65 one. Its cheap at 87 or you could try the Nano fission skimmer when it comes out in a few weeks. I will hopefully be putting a nano fission in my DIY AC 110 fuge(if it fits.) The super skimmer is HOB or in sump so if you get a sump you dont have to buy a new one. Nano fission is in sump, so nvm.

dont get the coralife super skimmer if you plan to use it HOB on a 10 gallon. lol i just learned this a couple days ago. the pump and bubble trap take up like half of the tank. if you wanna use it you really need to have a sump to put it in. its probably the best skimmer out there for the price tho. and its pretty quiet

I have a Remora w/MJ1200 on my 10. I tried a CSS 65. WAY TOO BIG:D It works much better than my remora, but it literally took up half the tank. The Remora works ok:rolleyes: but it should blow away a 10 g IMO. It doesnt. BTW I have the skimmer box as well.

Get a sump and fuge, and then get the CSS. If you want HOB then I geuss I would go Remora but its quite pricey. You could also DIY one, nano-reef.com has alot of good DIY nano skimmers or you could get a CPR Bak Pak, their not the greatest but it wont be working that hard.

I have a Remora Pro with a Mag 5 on a 12g custom nano. Works well, regular Remora would be fine also. You can mount your PH with an elbow so it doesn't sit completely in the tank.

IME, once the CSS65 breaks-in, it doesn't spit out any microbubbles. I don't use the bubble trap anymore, and I plugged the air-vent on the output tube - it caused bubbles too.

Queen with low flow pump and air injection; cheap and effective.

I am thinking of going for a coralife super skimmer 3000/65. I am thinking of adding a sump to my system and running it through this. This way it will get me going on that sump/fuge project! Thanx for all the suggestions

P.S. Melbourne your tank looks awesome

Remora + MJ1200 seems to be a good choice. It consumes very little space in the tank. At the beginning it may generate many bubbles, but it will stop after 2-3 weeks.

I run a Remora + MJ1200 on my 10g and it works great. I also have the skimmer box which hides the pump. That skimmer pulls some nasty stuff out!
