i'm just starting off a 2.5 gallon nano reef due to either my hermits or my urchins knocking one of my corals around in my 29 gallon....just wondering what the best fish and inverts are for this type of thing... i have an aqua-clear on it as well as 9 wpg lighting. thanks!

you coul get a chromis or 2.......preferably one, you could also get a blenny or goby.

Really chromis in a 2gal??? dont sound right to me. I would think maybe a yellow clown goby or maybe citron goby, or a rainsford, or neon goby. Fish, just courious what lighting you have? Im doing a 2.5gal minibow right now and im thinking either play it simple with a standard 10w 50/50 screw in corl life bulb or get the single 18w fixture with 1 moon light from current for like 40$ comes like 12in long and should fit right on top of my mini bow.

Good luck
TOuch.

i picked up some peppermint shrimp and a porcelin crab tonight.... i am using an aqualight mini....1 10k and 1 true actinic 03. both are 9 watts. i am going to go with some sort of shrimp goby. i have a rainsford in my 29 and they get too big for 2.5 gallons. i also have a chromis in my 29 and i agree, too large.

most people would say stay away from putting any type of fish in a 2.5 . if you really want a fish i would only add a neon goby or a type of clown goby. any other baby fish or small fish would get stressed and die . i personally only had a yellow clown goby for a 2.5 mini bow and it was fine . but any other i would recomend against it.

thanks guys....i'm going to stick with good ol' inverts for now. yasha hazas are tempting though, they are neat little fish!
