Second (or First?) Meeting Ideas

Any ideas for a meeting? I'm thinking perhaps a restaurant. Maybe Hot Sizzlig Wok again? It seemed to work well last time.

Any other ideas?

Well since many people don't know the History of TRAC- Toledo Reef Aquarium Club we use to be known as the unoffical club of TARA - Toledo Area Reef Association. We had our first meeting back in I believe April/May of this year and haven't got around to having our second meeting. We have no reformed under the new name of TRAC. Our first meeting was at the Hot Sizzling Wok which was really good chineese food. For those people who don't like Chineese food they also have American Food. I'm always up for another meeting there.

I can setup the meeting at the wok again if that is where people would like to go. The back room is almost always available, you just have to call and ask for it. Rumors on Monroe street also has a really nice back room that they will let you have (or they used to at least) and they also have really good food (greek/american).

Now that it is getting colder out I should be around on the boards more often. During the summer I find myself outside most of the time if possible.

Either place is good with me too, Now for a date? How about something like Sat, Oct 29th. This will make it so we don't conflict with the Cincy frag swap on the 22nd and enough time to get the word out and get flyers posted at the LFS's in the area.

The 29th will work. I can post a flyer if needed at Coral Reef, its right by my house. Anyone else close to or often go to a LFS where they can post?

Unfortunetly my brothers wedding is on the 29th so I will not be able to make it but don't let that hinder you from getting a nice crowd.

I won't be able to make that whole weekend. I'll be in Pennsylvania for the wedding on the 27th of October - 1st of November. My whole family lives over there. On November 5th I'm flying out to Vegas from Nov 5 - 11th after that I'll be available.

Jen some of my students are going to Cinni but I don't think I am, My son has soccer (my dad never missed any of my sports so I am trying to do the same)

we are looking for some mushrooms, zoos, a torch, and many a cheap deal on some peppermints for the big tank and bargins on some sps for the surge tank (if there are any) not that prices in Columbus weren't fair (they were) but it would be nice to find a fire sale if you know what I mean ha ha

No date has been set yet. I found out that I can not make it that weekend either. My hubby made plans for the family to go out of town.

I have not decided about Cinci yet. It is the soccer tournament weekend. Like you, I try not to miss their games. I do not expect Cassie's team to go that far, this is their first year in a new age bracket (4th - 7th grade). Unfortunately our girls are all 4th graders. They are not doing as well as years past. That game is at 9:00 am. If they lose, I may head to Cincy after.

How about November 19th, noon at Hot Sizzling Wok.

This will give us time to get organized, post flyers at all of the LFS's and have everyone plan for it.

AABuck, will you make the reservations? I'll print out color flyers.

Weimers said that she'd ask if Coral Reef will post them. I can ask Gary's Will any one else ask Tropical Reef and Ocean Treasures? I will also drop off some flyers at a couple of homes that I know have tanks.

Any other ideas?

Date and time sounds great I'll be sure to put it on my calendar. If AABuck doesn't come around and make the reservations I'll hit that one up. Its still a month off so that gives us plenty of time. Hopefully I can resolve my issues with the club website and get that working correctly by then.

Joshso, If you know any friends that are also in the hobby bring them along with you.

We have set the date as one Month from Today which is Saturday, November 19th location is the Hot Sizzling Wok at the location 3 post above.

I'm working on the site as much as I can. I'll have some more time coming up this saturday. I'll try to do a little bit tonight no promisses though.

Jen we might want to change the date of the Club meeting! I'm getting a lot of flax since November 19th is the day of the Ohio State Michigan game! Everyone is going to a football part somewhere including myself. I didn't realize that weekend was the big game. If its not to much trouble maybe we can move it out one more weekend on the 26th or move it ahead one weekend on November 12th. Hopefully you haven't done anything with the flyers yet.

November 26th is the weekend after Thanksgiving so it might be hard to get people on that date as well since some will be traveling for the Holidays. Anyone care to give feed back?

That's true about Thanksgiving. We may just have to set a date and whoever makes it makes it. I know its rather short notice to let others know, but would anything work in early November? That might help with the game schedule and the holidays coming up.

I can make any of those November dates but not until after 5:30 I have a masters weekend-o-fun the middle two weekends starting on the 11th

Any Sunday would be OK for me except next weekend. Hot Sizzling Wok does not offer lunch portions on Sunday's. I don't think that it is a big deal.

Briney - Log in as a visitor, pw guest and click on request account. It should be pretty self explanitory from there.
