go with the reefstart setup. Its alot better and you will have more choices in bulbs. JMO
I don't know if I'd go with the XM 15000k bulb. I've seen the PAR results on them and they actually have a lower PAR than the XM 20000k version. You may want to decide between the 10000k and 20000k instead. You're also deciding between a 150w bulb or a 250w bulb. The 150w will be sufficient and will save you a bit on electricity, IMO. However, the pendant is a more versatile setup than the clip-on light. For the money, I'd get the pendant. If you could get a 150w version though, I'd take that route. Best of luck with whatever you choose.

thanx for the input
are the bulbs that you upgrade to xm because it says xde 15k
i also realize that the 15k xm bulbs have lower par but i dont want to suplement the light either way
the tank is 18"deep and i was planning on a 6" dsb
so like 12" or so from the surface the the sand
will a 150w 15k double ended bulb be enough to grow some sps or would the 250w be a better bet i mostly want lps zoas and rics
but would like a couple of nice acros on the top
