Hi Guys,

I have a 10g cycling at the moment so I'm still considering my fish list. I'm interested in what others are keeping in their 10g.

Please post your fish lists.

Thanks

Kaz

I also have a nano cycling and am interested in hearing fish suggestions. No damsels or clowns for me though. I have plenty of those in my other tank.

I've got a 6-line wrasse and a Royal Gramma going into my 12gal JBJ and that's it on fish.....

I'd think two fish would be about it...

6 fish is too many for a 10g tank. Please do not attempt this. I'm sure you will use better judgement and only keep 1 or 2 fish in your 10g tank as most reefkeepers do. A 10g tank just does not provide nearly enough space for more than a couple small species. If you're really into clownfish, try a couple of the smaller clownfish like Perculas, False Perculas (Ocellaris), or Pink Skunks. Otherwise, a combination of a small clownfish with some type of goby or a single chromis would be OK as well. Best of luck with your new setup!

Hey K9, What exactly is the "10 and over club"...??? I've seen other people saying that throughout the forum....

Bob Hey Bob,

It just stands for 10 years or more in the reefkeeping hobby. My first tank in '95 was a 10g NSW setup with a Grey Angelfish. The fish lived all of one week . This was back when I lived in the Keys. You'll also see "20 & over club". Paul B here on RC is a member of the 30 & over club. I hope I reach that milestone someday :D.

Clowns are really cool and clown gobies are also cool. In my fifteen i want a citron or green clown goby or a hi fin red banded goby and two false percs(that are in QT right now). Also, not all species of fish are availble in captive bred but the majority of fish that people put in ten gallons are captive bred. I had WC true percs and they didnt last longer than three days, I have CB false percs and their night and day diffrence.

I currently keep 1 firefish in my 10g. More than 1 or 2 IMO is to many.

I agree with CPT. Murphy. I would only keep 1 fish in a 10g. In the long run you will be happy you did

I've got a six-line wrasse and a small royal gramma in my 12gal JBJ and that will be it... The two of them seem to love the space and get along nicely.... I've also got a blood red fire shrimp as well other than that it's all corals/polyps.....

By the way, it's true about the wrasse creating a "slime"cocoon to sleep in ... I found him in one this morning... really cool to see.. I've only had these fish in the tank for 24 hours and at first thought I'd lost him.... but he'd found a spot to sleep in under a mushroom rock....

I had a royal gramma and a pearly jawfish in my 12g JBJ.

Until the jawfish jumped the back barrier and had a fatal encounter with my pump. :(

I will likely get another jawfish, but not until I block that gap with some weatherstripping (you need a sandbed for them though).
