Hi all

I'm wondering if anyone in the club has experience in making your own tank stand. I have the desire to move my 125g reef to a 240g acrylic in the near future and would like to hear tips on making a nice, sturdy stand for little $. I have tools so that isn't a problem. Any advice is appreciated.

Chad,

I built the stand and hood for my 55 and will be building a stand for a 65 next weekend. Many others in the club have built their stands as well.

What's the footprint of the 240?

It's 4 feet by 4 feet square at the base. I figured 4"x4" lumber is a good start to hold the weight but I'd like to keep the bottom open for a sump; I'm not sure if that is feasable?
