Is there any way around having to resize,so the quality of the pic isn't lost?
Hi Kedd,
Great looking tank! How big is that anemone on the right side? About a foot in diameter?
Doug
Hi Doug ,
The anemone is about 1ft across it has split 2 times and a couple of friends have the clones.
Do you know what species it is?
I think It's a ritteri (Heteractis Magnifica) From what the book says, but I could be totally wrong.

Hi Kedd,
I looked at both Bob Fenners' site at:
http://www.wetwebmedia.com/anemones.htm
and in The Reef Aquarium Vol1 (pgs 389-395), by Delbeek and Sprung, and if I had to guess I would say that it is either a Heteractis crispa or a Heteractis magnifica.
Both of them have similar looks but from your picture I would lean torwards the H. crispa because it looks as if the tentacles taper at the ends where as the H. magnifica has fairly even sized tentacle thickness from base to tip.
What color is the oral column and have you noticed the texture of the column? That might help me make more positive id.
That is really a great looking anemone!

Hi Kedd,
I just noticed that you posted this image while I was looking the anemone up and typing. ;)

I wish I could give you a 100% positive id but I am just not sure.
