Yes, they are great little powerheads. I have one that has been in contant use for over three years now. No noticeable heat increase with these.

i prefere the micro jets ( i guess, i've never used the mini jets ), i've got a couple that have been running for ~2 years, no heat issues, no problems...

yup, but either are reliable pumps, just depends on which ones fit your needs.

I have one, dosnt raise temps at all and is cheaper thank a maxi jet 400 or 600 and you can increase flow too.

yea thats a great little powerhead.
They're good little pumps but I don't like them.
They're actually fountain pumps designed to pump water straight up. The intake is on the bottom, which is the back the way we use them . Unless you mount them low enough in the tank they have a tendency to suck air. I had to turn mine off every time I did waterchanges. Instead I'm now using Tunze Minis,

They're smaller, the intake is on the bottom, and they move almost as much water.

I'll second the Tunze Mini. Awesome Little pump.
I had problems with the maxi minis in that if the suction cups came loose, the dang thing will point straight up and pump water out of the tank.

Thanks Agu! Tunze makes a great product. I might get 2 for my 10g. Would that be good flow?
Depends on what you want in the tank but I don't think that would be enough for a ten gallon.
I'm using an Aquaclear that moves 300 gph plus the Tunze.
