Just curious if anyone had seen Southdown sand anywhere near Pocatello. Kinda doubt it, but figured I'd ask :)

If you are close to Poky, why don't you just drive down to SLC and collect some of the oolthic sand that forms in the great salt lake? It's not that far away is it? Here is a link with directions on where to go get it. It is not quite a white as the southdown it is a little more grey, but it works great. I got about 400 lbs of it a few years ago and used it in lots of tanks. Besides that if you go get 3 or 4 hundred pounds you could sell the extra to pay for your gas to pick it up....

Hmm, sounds like a road trip may be in order. :)
Thanks

I ended up using about 150lbs of darker play sand and then putting about 60lbs of white sand from the lfs over the top.
