use ecslipse 12 tank only

I am looking into setting up a nano acrylic tank tank that will be used to house a mantis shrimp. I found an eclipse 12 gallon tank only for $60. Has anyone ever used just the tank only, then added a pc and hob filter/fuge?

if you dont want corals leave the hood on there. the light is bright enough to clearly see fish shrimp etc. the filter is also a good one. remember to take the biowheel out because they make tons of nitrate.
